iGrain India - The cooperative purchase of wheat in Rajasthan will begin from March 10 for the 2024-25 Rabi marketing season, and the registration process for farmers has already started on January 1. The registration will be available on the Food Department's online portal until June 25.
Farmers wishing to sell their wheat at the government-set minimum support price (MSP) can register online by providing necessary documents such as Jan Aadhar Card, Girdawari, and land details.
In Jhalawar district alone, 11 purchase centers have been established, including centers by the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Oilseeds Association, and Rajfed. These centers are spread across key locations such as Bhawani Mandi, Birwa, Manohar Chana, and others.
For the 2024-25 season, the Central Government has set the MSP of wheat at ₹2425 per quintal, while the Rajasthan government has added an extra ₹125 per quintal as a bonus.
Therefore, farmers will receive ₹2550 per quintal for their wheat. Payments will be made directly to the farmers' bank accounts to ensure transparency in the process.
